Somatic therapy in Calgary and online
Body-based therapy that helps you tune into the wisdom beneath your thoughts and emotions
You've tried to think your way through it. But some things live deeper than thoughts.
You're not someone who hasn't tried. You've reflected, you've talked, you've worked to understand yourself. And yet something remains — a tension, a disconnection, a feeling that lives in the body and doesn't quite respond to insight alone.
-
A tightness in your chest. A knot in your stomach. Shoulders that won't quite drop. You know something is there — you just haven't had a way to work with it that goes beyond talking about it.
-
There are times when you feel like you're moving through life on autopilot. Going through the motions. Present on the outside, somewhere else on the inside. Like there's a distance between you and your own experience.
-
Your responses can feel out of proportion, or you find yourself going numb when things get difficult. You don't always feel in control of how your system responds, and you're not sure how to change that.
-
Therapy, journaling, self-reflection — you've invested in understanding yourself. And it's helped. But there's something that hasn't shifted, something that lives below the level of insight.
What becomes possible when your body finally feels like a safe place to be with.
A growing ability to notice what you're feeling — and stay with it, rather than push it away
More regulation — less overwhelm, less shutting down, more steadiness
A felt sense of safety that doesn't rely on everything around you being okay
Deeper connection to yourself — to your instincts, your needs, your own inner knowing
A body that begins to feel like home again
I believe the body holds a kind of wisdom that the mind alone can't always access.
Somatic therapy invites the body into the healing process. Rather than only talking about your experience, we slow down and pay gentle attention to what's happening beneath the words — sensations, impulses, the way your system responds. Drawing on my decade of experience as an osteopathic manual therapist, I bring a deep respect for the body's role in how we hold and process our experiences. Sessions are warm, gentle, and entirely paced to what feels safe. You don't need to know how to "do" somatic work — I'll guide you, and we'll discover what your body has to offer together.
If you're curious about what it might feel like to bring your body into the healing conversation, I'd love to connect.
