In-person therapy for children and teens
What to Expect
How it Works
I’m here to help simplify the process, so you can take the next step with less noise and more clarity.
1
Step One
Schedule a free 15-minute parent consultation. We’ll talk about what’s been coming up and whether this feels like the right fit for your child or teen. It’s a relaxed space to ask questions and explore what support might look like.
2
Step Two
If we choose to move forward, we’ll book a full parent intake session to explore your child’s history, needs, and strengths more deeply. This gives us a solid foundation and helps shape a therapy plan that’s thoughtful and attuned.
3
Step Three
Now it’s time to begin regular therapy sessions with your child or teen — at their pace, and in a way that feels safe and supportive. Building trust takes time, and we’ll work towards therapy goals, one step at a time.
Rates
Therapy is an investment in your child’s wellbeing, your family’s connection, and the future you’re building together.
I offer sessions for both parents and young clients, depending on your family’s needs. Parent consultations and intake sessions provide space for you to share your child’s history, ask questions, and explore next steps — typically lasting 60 minutes, with 90-minute extended options available if more time is needed. Therapy sessions for children and teens are offered both in person and online, and are usually 60 minutes in length. Extended 90-minute sessions are also available for deeper support.

Insurance
Many extended health benefit plans in Canada offer coverage for counselling with a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). If you plan to use insurance, I encourage you to contact your provider in advance to confirm whether services with a CCC are included. If covered, you’ll pay for sessions directly and receive a receipt to submit for reimbursement. While I don’t offer direct billing at this time, I’m happy to support you in navigating the process.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I work with a range of concerns including emotional regulation, anxiety, grief, self-esteem, school challenges, identity exploration, parent–child conflict, and the effects of early stress or family changes.
-
The parent intake is a space for us to explore your child’s history, current challenges, strengths, and the support you’re hoping for. It’s also a chance to talk through any concerns, ask questions, and begin shaping the direction of therapy.
-
Every child is different, and so is their pace. Some begin to feel shifts after a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term support. We’ll check in regularly to ensure the approach remains helpful and aligned.
-
Yes — alongside child and teen therapy, I offer dedicated sessions for parents and caregivers. These can help you make sense of your child’s behaviors, explore your own responses, and feel more grounded in how you support them. It’s not about doing everything perfectly — it’s about finding steadiness together.
Additionally, I offer wrap-around support sessions, where I collaborate with your child’s teacher, mentor, or other key supports to help create consistency and alignment across their care and learning environments.
-
Yes — I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee spots for families with financial need. If affordability is a concern, please reach out. I’ll do my best to accommodate or offer referral options.
-
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less notice are subject to the full session fee.

Change doesn’t have to start with a big leap.
Sometimes it begins with a single conversation — one grounded in care and curiosity.
